Stockholm based Producer Özgür Can with a special live mix from a private Party in Germany
Özgür Can was born in Stockholm Sweden 1982 and grew up in a family where music was present at all times. Ever since then a large part of his life has evolved around beats, tones and grooves of all shapes.
Right now, Özgür Can is getting a lot of attention worldwide with his music. His storming productions and explosive DJ sets have already made him one of the most respected figures on the scene.
From being one of the many bedroom producers, Özgür has now turned into being one of the biggest talents hailing from the international progressive scene, both as a DJ and a producer!
He’s been spinning records at major events and venues as well he has produced tracks that are being hyped by top labels and DJs around the globe! His true and deep love for music has made him a versatile DJ and producer with a focus on progressive music with an energetic flow, but still with an open mind for other styles such as trance, breaks and house.
His interest for sounds, tones and beats developed during the years as he spent his time listening to everything from trance, house and techno to pop, hip hop and alternative music.
His wide musical background is also clearly reflected in his current sound; he has an open mind and is not afraid to cross boundaries and take new paths.
His unique and diverse style has resulted in releases on labels like Precinct, Armada, Lost Language, Plastica Red and Cpr. As well it has given him fans such as Paul Oakenfold, Hernan Cattaneo, James Holden, Armin Van Buuren, Tiësto, Markus Schulz, Max Graham and many more.
Alongside his stunning career as a producer, Özgür is also making it big behind the wheels of steel, and with a large number of storming DJ gigs around Europe; things are set up for success.
Starting as a ‘bedroom’ producer 9 years ago, Özgür Can put himself now on the international map of dance.
Out out love for music he decided to make his own music which resulted in a huge amount of stunning productions and remixes that are being played and heavily supported by guys like Sasha, James Holden, Max Graham, Armin van Buuren, Anthony Pappa, Paul van Dijk and Tiesto to name just a very few.
His open mind of music gives him the freedom to fit into different kind of events, whether hes warming up for Armin van Buuren on a big Armada night or being a headliner on a exclusive progressive night.
With bookings all over the world and being voted as nr. 22 (!) of the world by clubcharts (one of Hollands leading dance websites), and entering this year The DJ List in the top 200, he can be called THE talent of 2004.

Definition mit Funk D‘Void – Trippin‘ Techno, kickin‘ House
Wer Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier und Sven Väth begeistert, der muss es als Produzent einfach drauf haben. Der heutige Definition-Gast bei Christian Fischer erfüllt all diese Kriterien zu 200 Prozent. Lars Sandberg nennt sich Funk D‘Void nach dem von Parliament Frontmann George Clinton geschaffenen Charakter Sir Nose D'Voidoffunk. Devoid of funk - frei von Funk - ist er aber gerade nicht. Im Gegenteil, er teilt Funk aus als säße er auf seiner Quelle und könne frei darüber verfügen. Er verabreicht ihn unaufgeregt entspannt in Form von Melodien, kickender Deepness, Vocals, House, Techno. Der Schotte, der mittlerweile in Barcelona lebt, bringt damit das mediterrane Lebensgefühl auf die Tanzfläche, druckvoll und treibend zugleich. Positiv ist sein Sound, allerdings niemals oberflächlich. Mit dem Hit „Diabla“ schaffte der seit den 1990ern aktive Künstler 2001 endlich den Durchbruch. Ab da gab es keinen Weg zurück, nur noch nach vorn und durch die Clubs der Welt treibt es Funk D‘Void nun. Gut, dass auf dieser Strecke auch die Distillery liegt.
Funk D'Void is a DJ and producer who has been at the forefront of the global electronic music scene since the mid-90s. He started Djing at around the tender age of 15, running two under-18 clubs himself – a perfect start to his career. Knowing his vocation to music from an early age after being brought up by his professional pianist mother, Lars never had any doubt as to where his future would lie.
House music changed his life, the early Chicago sound specifically, and hearing the certain sounds during his childhood stirred something inside him; the 808 drum machine used on Marvin Gaye's “Sexual Healing” secured his fascination with these electronic sounds – the turning point over to the Detroit techno sound was almost a spiritual moment as it forged his unique sound that would follow over the coming years – visceral, soulful and without compromise.
After a string of hits over the years (“Jack Me Off”, “Bad Coffee” “Emotional Content”) plus some killer remixes for the likes of Underworld, New Order and Kevin Saunderson, he is probably best known for the end-of-nighter 'Diabla' which bridged house and techno (and was flogged by everyone from Danny Howells to Sven Vath). And if you look carefully, recently you’ll also spy the name ‘L. Sandberg’ in the liner notes of releases by "newcomer" Francois Dubois, whose “Blood” and “I Try” were huge underground hits of 2006 and 2007 respectively.
Much in demand DJ and critically acclaimed producer, his Djing style is everything you expect a true music lover’s taste to be: he is comfortable and adept at moving any dancefloor, the proof being that he is one of the busiest Djs on the circuit today, and has been for the last decade. Wer steht den Jungs von Finest Selection Chris Manura und Andreas Eckhardt dieses Mal zur Seite? Und welcher Gast wird Christian Fischer's Definition-Reihe beehren? Fragen über Fragen die eigentlich recht schnell beatwortet sind. Und so fassen wir uns kurz und knallen es einfach und gerade heraus: Juno6 und Alan Fitzpatrick.
